Picture this: I’m standing in the customs line in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, when I hear a woman scream, “Sarah Turner, you’ve changed my life!” across the line. 😳

I turned around, completely stunned, to see this woman who was in my copywriting program, Write Your Way to Freedom.

I was so shocked, I let people go ahead of me just to talk to her.

What’s even crazier?

I was literally on my way to a retreat that bunch of students from my program happened to be at, so I assumed she was going too.

Nope! Total coincidence that we met.

As we talked, she shared how she had been quietly taking the course, what I like to call a “lurker”—someone who doesn’t engage in the community, doesn’t share their journey, but just quietly does the work and gets results.

(BTW, I’m a lurker too, lol 👀)

She told me how copywriting allowed her to go fully remote, leave her massage therapy job, move in with her boyfriend, and start building the life she’d dreamed of.

It was one of those moments where I thought, *is this real life????*

And this, THIS is why I do what I do.

Monica’s journey is so inspiring. 🥰

Monica started out in an intense finance job in London where she worked 60 hours per week under the dreaded fluorescent lighting. 😫

She was burning out and dreamed of earning a flexible, consistent income so she could travel the world.

So when Monica discovered copywriting and joined Write Your Way to Freedom in June of 2022, she got right to work.

Success didn’t come right away, but that didn’t prevent her from continuing the path.

After spending two months sending out about 50-100 cold emails every week (that’s about 400-800 emails!), she finally booked her first copywriting job for website copy. 🎉

Monica was nervous going into her discovery call, having a portfolio made up of only emotional technique samples from the course. But her nerves turned to confidence after getting a Write Your Way to Freedom coach’s advice on a live call.

And to her amazement, that discovery call became $4,000 worth of client work during her first month as a paid copywriter. 🥳

Fast forward to today, Monica has been able to quit her job and go all-in on copywriting. 🙌

She now focuses on email retainers and one-off launch copy projects. But she’s also subcontracting for a copywriting agency that does quiz funnel projects.

She loves that copywriting has allowed her to spend more time with her family and friends so she doesn’t have to rush through mealtimes. She says, “Not only do I spend more time with them but an even better version of me is showing up. My relationships are better than ever.”

And that makes me so happy to hear! ❤️

What’s next? Monica has her sights set on earning $15k per month and going on a dream trip to Tokyo. 😎
